Google has answered Facebook with their newest product in the shelf "Google +1 Button". With this new +1 Button your visitors can promote article, blog post, website or product on your website by simply clicking and +1 Button.

+1 Button

Google has answered Facebook with their newest product in the shelf "Google +1 Button". With this new +1 Button your visitors can promote article, blog post, website or product on your website by simply clicking and +1 Button.

Google's +1 Button is more important and will beat Facebook Like in popularity because it will influence the search result and yes that makes a difference, big time. If you own a website for your personal blog, product or anything and being in search result is important for you, than don't wait to put "this" button on your website. Since it's launch I have seen lot of implementations.

To vote +1 up, user or visitor just need a Google profile/account, a standard one. Till date when I am writing this some of the Google Apps users are not able to use this feature but I am sure it will change in future as Google will migrate them and make all products available to them. For now you might get an error like "Oops... you need a Google profile to use this feature.Google Profiles is not available for your organization."

Placing a Google +1 Button on website is very simple and easy and there are not 2 ways like Facebook had either go for iFrame version of JS and markup. Just include JS and place a <g:plusone></g:plusone> and that's it you're done. There are choice for button size too, so you can choose one which fits your website design and spacing. Refer Google +1 for Webmasters to get started. I am sure no webmaster can afford to dislike +1 Button.

It's kind of Google Friend Connect but not exactly, influence on search results and it's appearance in search result makes the difference. It also shows up all +1d links on a users profile in a separate tab.

Checkout this video to understand Google +1 Button in more detail:

and yes don't forget to +1d Blogs@DiGiTSS if you like our posts.

Today I have received an announcement from Google Apps team that maximum # of users for Standard edition (which is free) has been reduced to 10. Previously that number was 50 (really generous), with which many businesses don't really need to go and buy the Premier Edition which would cost $50/year per user (email account). Especially when they really don't want to go for signing up SLA for up-time and all that.

Now when Google has reduced back this # from 50 to 10, I am sure Google Apps will be big-time earning son (product) for Google. Because lot of businesses today are dependent on excellent set of tools provided by Google which includes Google Calendar as Scheduler/Reminder, Google Docs as an Online Office Suite which includes spreadsheet, drawing and presentation tools and Google Site with which one can build Company Intranet websites for various purpose.

Luckily for those who have signed up earlier they will be able to create more than 10 users, up to what Google has promised them.

Here is the copy of email we have received for the change in policy:

Hello,

We recently announced upcoming changes to the maximum number of users for Google Apps. We want to let you know that, as a current customer, the changes will not affect you.

As of May 10, any organisation that signs up for a new account will be required to use the paid Google Apps for Business product in order to create more than 10 users. We honor our commitment to all existing customers and will allow you to add more than 10 users to your account for apps.digitss.com at no additional charge, based on the limit in place when you joined us.

Sincerely,

The Google Apps Team

Email preferences: You have received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to your Google Apps account.

Netbeans has been one of my favorite IDE for PHP, I have been using it in my day to day usage for most of my projects. I have been using Netbeans since 6.x. I know it's Java based IDE which needs powerful machine just like Eclipse. But some of the feature it offers are even not available in commercial competitors. One of the best feature is "Quick Search", the way it provides search through list of file is awesome. Something similar I have seen is in JetBrains PHPStorm but could not find it in Enterprise class Eclipse.

I have been following and using and following progress on Netbeans 7 since it's first beta release and I have noticed that it has improved lot as far as speed of IDE is concerned. Whenever your Netbeans 7 IDE freezes for fraction of second or two it immediately opens up a window to report an issue. With each beta (1, 2) and now RC1 speed improvement and especially intelligent auto-complete speed has improved drastically (compared to 6.x).

Here is the quick view of features supported by Netbeans 7 platform:

Google frequently makes changes in Search algorithm, this count reaches somewhere around 350-400 changes a year. It means that there is some change in search algorithm everyday and it creates challenges for Search Engine Specialists and companies who are having SEO and SEM as their primary bread-and-butter. They just have to keep experimenting constantly to find out what works out best.

The change that Google made more than a month back made one of the most consequential algorithm change of last decade which has affected about 12% of search results.

But recently Google has done some major changes in the Search Engine algorithms which will stop bringing content-farms and spam results for the Search users. It means that end user wins and he's going to get best search results and nearly the exact information s/he is looking for.

There is wonderful video about Innovation@Google (it's about 52 minutes long) and in that they tell us how they keep innovating @ Google continuously. One thing I remember Douglas Merrill said during the presentation which was meant like "Search is the problem which is not solved yet or might not get solved ever". I agree it has to improve day by day.. as people change and so as their need and demands.

Innovation at Google

So ultimately both end users will win as they will get better results and original, pure and fresh content providers will benefit as well.

Here is the excellent info-graphic compiled by Focus Research.

Google punishes Content Farms

So did you made any change in your SEO policy as a SEO expert? or did you got affected by this major change in algorithm? If you're fresh content provider you'll see improvement for sure, just like us.

Now IPv6 (Internet Protocol version-6) is the one who's going to save us from this space outage and will be the successor of IPv4. Windows, *nix and other software have support for IPv6 since quite long time now. Typical IPv6 address looks like 2002:7c7d:f78d::7c7d:f78d.

Back in December when I updated my twitter status to announce MySQL 5.5 general availability, I was very happy at that moment. It was the first major and much awaited release of MySQL after Oracle - the database giant acquired Sun (and so MySQL). Though MySQL 6.0 is not an active project right now and there are many strategic changes after Oracle's acquisition of Sun for MySQL's development road-map, but as a AMP developer it was news to be happy about.

Good to see MySQL founder Michael "Monty" Widenius, has forked MySQL as MariaDB, which is binary compatible (drop-in replacement) with MySQL. Good to see open-source efforts to keep the momentum alive.

Moving back to MySQL, with version 5.5 there are lot of new enhancements including performance improvements for both MyISAM and InnoDB storage engine. InnoDB gets updated to latest version InnoDB 1.1. There are many improvements with replication and couple of new feature addition with replication as well. I have been using MySQL-Replication since long time (3 years now) and I am excited about the replication heartbeat and all new improvements which are made in that direction.

Some of the highlights from MySQL.com about 5.5 are as following:

MySQL Database 5.5 delivers enterprise features, including:

Improved! Up to 1500% faster performance on Windows

Improved! Up to 370% faster performance on Linux

Improved! Better scalabilty on modern, multi-core, multi-CPU hardware

New! Performance Schema for monitoring MySQL server run-time performance

New! Semi-synchronous replication to ensure data consistency and redundancy

New! Replication Heartbeat to immediately uncover replication interruptions

New! Partitioning options for faster lookups

New! Easier development and debugging of stored procedures, functions, and triggers

Reliability requiring little or no intervention to achieve continuous uptime

Ease of use with "15 minutes to success" installation and configuration

Low administration with very little database maintenance required

Replication providing flexible topologies for scale-out and high availability

Partitioning to improve performance and management of very large database environments

ACID Transactions to build reliable and secure business critical applications

Stored Procedures to improve developer productivity

Triggers to enforce complex business rules at the database level

Views to ensure sensitive information is not compromised

Information Schema to provide easy access to metadata

Pluggable Storage Engine Architecture for maximum flexibility

I have just started MySQL 5.5 deployment on our production servers one by one and performance difference is visible while running the application.

Facebook - The Social Network launches new Registration tool, which we can embed on our website. This tool will reduce the amount of time taken for website visitors and one can have more sign-ups, registrations or prospects signing in.

This would definitely help many businesses as it would lead to more accurate data for businesses and less keystrokes for users/visitors. Similar to Facebook's Like button we will see lot of implementations of this tool in near future. (it would be in millions soon.. )

New Facebook Registration Tool

It's pretty easy you can either use IFRAME or FBML (Javascript) approach. You can add up custom fields in the Facebook Regitration Tool.

Unlike Like and Share button it won't be completely drag and drop kind of. It means for collecting data from Facebook, those who do not have any programming knowledge may need to take some help of programmer to get it working.

Screenshot here shows up how it will be pre-filled with user information. So looks like it's end of few Robo-Form-fillers (except some confidential information), who will need them now..!

I am sure it's going to be another killer from Facebook. You can go through documentation here.

Google has launched Nexus S this December,2010 after launching Nexus One in January same year. It seems pretty good and decent slick piece of hardware from Samsung.

It comes loaded with latest Android OS 2.3 (code named Gingerbread) and powerful 1GHz Cortex A8 (Hummingbird) processor. See more of tech-specs at http://www.google.com/nexus. Specs are impressive, comes with 16GB internal memory and no expansion (which is okey...!)

It's edge to edge with iPhone 4 except display and on-screen keyboard, where it is difficult to beat iPhone 4.

It is priced at $529 unlocked and $199 on contract. If I was planning to buy a phone I would have chosen Google Nexus-S due to it's superior integration with almost all Google applications.

You can read detailed review on TechCrunch, if you're one of like me who's interested in finding out iPhone OS vs Android market-share then find it here on Mashable.

Watch this video on YouTube introducing Google Nexus-S (Pure Google). Pure Google sounds like Pure Gold.. It's more than 10 times cheaper than biscuit of Gold having same weight.

I thought Google won't bounce back into mobile after initial (almost) failure with Nexus-one but I was wrong, their OS Android is rocking all smart-phones around the world and they won't step back. I would like Nokia to produce/build a smartphone for Android OS.

So if given a choice what phone would you buy? Apple iPhone 4 or Google Nexus S ? What's your vote on Nexus S and iPhone 4? I would say Apple 8/10 and Google 7/10, Apple deserves that for superior quality display and attention to details which others ignore. I think I will buy both of them if not this version probably next ones.Similar Posts:

Google Adsense has got new user interface (v3), it seems to be much faster and responsive than the earlier version but when one has been using it for sometime it takes little while to get used to the newer version.

Here is the list of changes described by Google as release notes.

What's changed

Our new interface is designed to help you get more out AdSense. We've added new features and made our existing features easier to use.

Comprehensive performance reports: View your daily stats in graph format, and gain insight into your performance with new metrics detailing the amount you're earning from different ad types, ad sizes, targeting types, and more. Learn more

Quicker account maintenance: We've streamlined the process for a number of common tasks to help you get things done more quickly. Whether you're updating your contact information or editing a number of ad units at the same time, you'll find that these types of tasks require fewer clicks and less account navigation than before.

Prominent help links: There's now help content available on every page, so you'll be able to quickly find answers to your questions while navigating through your account.

Easier access to online resources: Visit the redesigned Resources page, where you can find the latest content from the Inside AdSense blog, our YouTube channel, and our Twitter account, all within your own account.

Renamed features: We've updated the names of several features in your account, in an effort to more clearly explain their purpose. While we hope the new names are more intuitive, if you're unclear what they do, refer to the help links on the page or in the sidebar.

What hasn't changed

With all the enhancements to AdSense, you may be wondering if everything is different about the program. Some things we've left alone:

Payments: The payment methods and schedule have not changed.

Ad code: You do not need to update the code on your pages, and the process for adding the code to your site remains the same.

Ad targeting: Ads will continue to be matched to your pages as they have in the past.

New Google Adsense3 makes life easy by giving faster, more responsive user interface and efficient and effective reporting but in all this I miss one of the feature from the older interface which is View my Yesterday and Last 7 days earnings. Yes, there are reports which will make up absence of this feature but in my opinion it was very quicker to have a look at that in older interface. With this newer v3 version we have This month and Today's earnings on home page without making a single mouse click. But Yesterday and Last 7 day's earnings is the thing which I will miss in this new interface.
