This is so annoying…why would Firefox adopt features of IE when no body like it T_T….not only that, I'm having this issue as well but I don't have the option of Launching applications and unsafe files (under "Miscellaneous") in the customized internet settings. People are saying to download internet explorer & but I don't know how I can do that when whenever I try to download something I can't because of the block.

I have the same problem (unable to download any file from any site, but I face it only after update FF to the version 3.0.4. I have to install v. 3.0.3 and it works fine.

Today, November 19, 2008, I was trying to download picasa.google.com and got the This download has been blocked …. But I could download from other sites. What it turned out to be is that somehow–undoubtedly one of my security programs–had addedd *.google.com to the Internet Properties>Security>Restricted sites list. I removed it and was able to download.
