MySQL 5.1 General Availability announced

MySQL 5.1 GA

MySQL 5.1 general availability is announced and it is available to be used for production use.

MySQL 5.1 brings many new enhancements in the bag for world's most popular open source database. which includes Partitioning, Row based Replication, new Plugin Infrastructure and there are many more including general enhancements.

Download it here if you are ready to put it in production or want to play with it in your development enviornment.

BlogRush shutdowns

Before a week probably I got mail authored by "John Reese" / BlogRush, about it's shutdown news.
I was one of the user of BlogRush and had BlogRush widget on my blogs. Although I was not sure that whether that widget was able to bring more traffic or not, it was just a nice addition on the blog. Although many times the related blogs were not actually close to the topic of my blog but..anyways. I didn't thought of removing it from my blog. Read the rest of this entry »

Symfony 1.2 first Beta is out

First beta version of new symfony version 1.2 is out now. There is a long long list of What's New in Symfony 1.2 but some of them are:

  • Doctrine to be bundled with framewok with Propel.
  • Prototype and Scriptaculous as core Javascript plugins.
  • Enhanced Web Debug Toolbar.
  • Propel 1.3 upgrade.
  • Many improvements and new features in Forms.

The list goes long and you can catch up that on Symfony website or just download and install a fresh copy of symfony 1.2 to play with.
